This morning I glanced at the ADSBExchange map and noticed a couple aircraft tracking toward me – KC-130J tankers from Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 252 (VMGR-252) at MCAS Cherry Point.
What I did not know until I went outside for a visual was that each one had two MV-22 Ospreys in trail!
The lead tanker only has a refueling pod on the right wing and the third Osprey has its refueling boom extended
I’m not sure where the Ospreys were from in this sortie but later on two more unsupported Ospreys flew over following the same route as the previous flight. They were from Marine Medium Tiltrotor Training Squadron 204 (VMMT-204) at MCAS New River.
