Upcoming SpaceX Launches

SpaceX has two Falcon 9 launches from KSC and Cape Canaveral scheduled within the next 48 hours. Both launches may be visible from this area, see the Rocket Launch Viewing Guide for viewing locations.

The first launch is the Crew-3 mission tonight at 9:03pm EST. There is an 80% chance of acceptable weather at KSC which drops to just 60% for the backup launch windows on Thursday and Friday night. Locally it will be touch and go with clouds increasing during the launch window tonight, clouds on Thursday night, and clear skies Friday night. Also keep an eye on the launch time tonight, this afternoon at 3:15pm the ISS will perform a debris evasion maneuver which could result in a slight change to the launch schedule.

The second launch is a Starlink mission Friday morning at 7:40am EST. There is only a 60% chance of acceptable weather at Cape Canaveral which improves to 80% Saturday morning. Once again clouds may impact the views locally, the forecast shows skies will be clearing just before launch time Friday morning and Saturday morning will be clear. Should the launch occur Friday morning there could be a booster transit across the rising sun.

The good news is if both launches get delayed until this weekend the forecast calls for clear skies throughout the southeastern United States.
