On the evening of May 3, 2021 a slow moving thunderstorm complex pummeled Harris County with lightning for nearly four hours. Here’s a screen grab from My Lightning Tracker soon after the event started around 7:30.
My personal weather station detected 619 lightning strikes within 25 miles of Cataula.
This was my first opportunity of 2021 to fly the drone for some lightning shots. Here is the raw video from which I extracted the images in the gallery.
