SpaceX is scheduled to launch a Falcon 9 rocket tonight at 9:58 PM EST. Weather permitting this launch should be visible from Harris County. My Rocket Launch Viewing Guide has all the details on where to observe the launch and what can be seen.
The rocket is carrying a payload of 60 Starlink satellites. They should be visible for the next several mornings around 6:00 AM EST. Here are the specific viewing times courtesy of Celestrak.
Look for a string of lights moving across the sky. On Wednesday morning the string will be very short, but as the week progresses the string will become longer.
A Starlink satellite train on 14 June 2020. This was photographed 24 hours and 12 minutes after their launch.
Last year SpaceX began launching Starlink satellites with a shield to reduce their visibility from Earth. It takes a few days for the satellites to orient themselves for the shield to be effective so the first few days after a launch is the best time to witness this spectacle.
Update
Tonight’s launch attempt has been cancelled. This date change means the Starlink satellites will no longer be visible.
